Auto Mechanics Recreate Renaissance Paintings

Freddy Fabris is a photographer based in Chicago who has years of experience on commercial projects for agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, and Leo Burnett. Aside from photography, Fabris also has background in painting, and had been longing to pay tribute to classical painters like Da Vinci and Rebrandt through photography. Just recently, he finally took on a personal project involving Auto Mechanics and classical painting style which was called the Renaissance Series. The idea sprung from a trip to an auto repair shop while he was accompanying a friend, and it turned out to be a brilliant, fascinating, and entertaining project. In spite of the comedic touch, all other elements in the photos, including lighting, composition and editing, are all on point, just like you’d expect from a professional photographer like Fabris, and perfectly recreates the classical Renaissance painting style. Check out his award-winning series below and drop by his website for more of his work.
