Moe’s Original Bar B Que took it as a personal attack when Chick-fil-A came out with a sign on their readerboard, advertising their Smokehouse BBQ sandwich. As a result, the co-owner of Moe’s, Ashleigh Valluzzo, came up with a readerboard response to throw some shade at Chick-fil-A, located just across the street. After a few weeks, Chick-fil-A’s General Manager, Jon Hewett, convinced his boss to send in a reply, and that’s when things started to get a bit more interesting. The result was a hilarious conversation between the two restaurants, with an unexpected cameo from another neighbor, Diamonds Exclusive Men’s Club, who got dragged in by Moe’s into the friendly feud. To their advantage, they used “Open Sundays” as an intimidation tactic.
“I have a nerdy sense of humor,” Moe’s Valluzzo explained to Alabama’s AL.com.
After being given the consent of owner-operator, Glenn Rosson, to reply, Chick-fil-A’s General Manager Jon Hewett tried to reconcile the friendship they had with Moe’s.
Hewett told the site, “I saw it as an Internet gold mine.”
After Chick-fil-A’s reply were a few more intriguing series of exchanges that made the Airport Boulevard traffic a lot more bearable. Hewett told AL.com that he has kept the banter “just as friendly as if we’re in the store. We think it’s cute, and it’s been fantastic fun.”
Chick-fil-A was all about that positive and friendly tone, but maybe it’s for the sole purpose of asking if Moe’s could grant them a favor.
The tension clears up as Moe’s politely express their interest to consider the favor.

Moe’s ‘kind of’ granted the favor but certain conditions apply.
After being dragged in by Moe’s in the conversation, Diamonds took it as an invitation and expressed their opinion with a sign of their own.
This is the last reply, for now, at least. This event turned out to benefit both parties, and it has been treat to passersby and to the whole world by means of social media.
“The back-and-forth has brought us both into the limelight” told Hewett.
